A Westpark Lakes man, who detectives said admitted to abusing at least six neighborhood boys over three years, has been sentenced to 122 years in prison for the crimes.
Convicted on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indicency with a child, 45-year-old Jeffrey F. Dorsten was sentenced Thursday in 240th District Court before Judge Thomas Culver III.
Dorsten was indicted in 2006. He was arrested in October of that year, and originally was held in jail in lieu of $1.5 million bond.
Dorsten’s arrest came after two cousins came forward and told police about incidents that occurred five years ago.
Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright said at the time that Dorsten had admitted to incidents involving four other victims, and added that detectives believed there could be dozens of additional victims.
Evidence and testimony at trial also indicated “numerous additional offense,” according to a statement released Monday by the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.
Employed by an international oil company, and involved in numerous community activities, Dorston “remained undetected because he was able to hide among us behind the good deeds he performed and his professional accomplishments,” said Assistant District Attorney Susy Morton, who prosecuted the case along with Sherry Robinson.
